The Hawkeye GearBox NDX uses previous and current price data to calculate 3 optimal tick settings (speeds) to use for the current trading day. We refer to the 3 speed values as Gears, similar to gears in the transmission of your car. The BLUE gear is fast, the YELLOW gear is medium, and the ORANGE gear is slow.

Use
1. Select the tick speed setting displayed in BLUE, YELLOW, or ORANGE and apply that tick setting to the chart you are using to trade.
a. Blue = fast setting when the market is moving fast
b. Yellow = medium setting for normal market activity
c. Orange = slow setting for slow or low volume market activity
2. Note: the companion tool Hawkeye Gear Changer NDX automatically shows you throughout the day which Gear (tick speed) to use as the market speeds up and slows down.
3. HINT: Open 3 chart analysis windows and set the tick count to correspond to each Gear Box color setting (tick values). This way, you can easily go between charts to look for trade setups. Link the YELLOW chart window symbol link “S” and interval link “I” to the companion tool Hawkeye GearChanger NDX.
